Stop this

Today I stood in the middle of the road redirecting traffic away from our War Memorial, where a service of Remembrance was taking place. The last time I sat in the road stopping traffic was at a demonstration in Whitehall against the prorogation of Parliament in 2019, which was subsequently declared unlawful. I wasn’t arrested then but if I did that now I might face a long jail sentence. The irony was not lost on me.

The new Labour Government should strike out this law against peaceful protest.
