I need to mark the occasion and share it. Today I finished all the Apple Fitness + 30 minute Treadmill workouts, all 126 of them. From my first few, mid-menopause and recovering from anaemia, where 6.0 km per hour was an achievement and I had to stop at least 3 times to now, where I'm usually Ahead of the Pack on the Burn Bar during my three sessions every week. It's taken me a couple of years to do, but I've done it.

I love Apple Fitness +. If you have the gym equipment at home - and I think my treadmill was a sound investment in terms of saved gym fees - it's a great way to work out. You somehow push yourself to your limit that day, with motivation from the three trainers on your screen. I'm a big fan of the yoga workouts too.

I first tried Fitness + on my two week Hong Kong hotel quarantine solitary confinement in October 2021 after going Around the World in 80 days. I wasn't able to hire a walking treadmill as planned so I did some of Jhon's dance workouts and paced up and down my little hotel room for half an hour listening to the Time to Walk monologues, most notably the one with Dolly Parton.

My favourite treadmill trainer is Scott Carvin whose motivational whimsy makes me smile even in the middle of a 12km/hr all-out. I feel like I've been through Emily and Sam's pregnancies with them, and felt the proud Black History Month roar of Sherica, wondering how she was coping now, in the Fascist world of 47 and his obsequious cronies. I hope she's hanging on in there waiting for better times. I hope she has not been arrested for sedition. A couple of weeks ago I puffed along to an unseasonal workout of Christmas songs, the outside temperature here in the mid 20Cs even here in Beckenham.

What now? Well, back to the beginning of course! I have saved a few favourite workouts, both speed and hills, that I liked because of the music or the chatty content or the post-workout exhilaration. Maybe I'll try those first, but then back to where I started, all the while hoping that they'll add more in due course.

Well done me!
