Why is it so easy to throw us under a bus?

Why is it so easy to throw us under a bus?
In the meantime, we continue to work on a community level

I emailed my (now Labour) MP this morning. Here is the body of my message:

Dear Liam,

I hope you’re well.

I was on our LibDem stand in Beckenham yesterday and at one point found myself standing up for you as our MP when a visitor to our stall said that you weren’t very visible here. I know that’s not true and rather you than your predecessor, of course. But I’d like to know what your party, your government is doing to stand up for me and other people from visible ethnic minorities and protect us from the current wave of racialised hatred and the threat of violence against us, the atmosphere of intimidation that looms over us. Why does your party continue to appease and gloss over the hatred and now violence promoted by Farage, Tice, Lowe, Trump, the late Kirk and Musk?

I thought that the previous Conservative administration was the worst in my lifetime but this Labour government’s refusal to stand up against the forces of evil has been a bitter disappointment. As Dr Martin Luther King Jr said:

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends,"

Your black and brown constituents also deserve your respect and protection. Are we so easily thrown under a bus by your party?
